    Race day, not training

This planner is for race day. The rules let you split each station any way you like, so it looks for the split that gets your team over the line fastest. That can mean one partner rows the whole 1000 m while the other does more of the sleds.

The FORMD app's doubles training plan works differently on purpose: each partner trains four whole stations, so you both get focused, repeatable sessions. That is a training choice, not race advice, and this planner does not change it. Read more in our doubles training guide.

The doubles rules this plan follows

From the official HYROX Doubles Rulebook 26/27 (D) and Singles Rulebook 26/27 (S). The planner only ever suggests splits these rules allow.

On the sled pull, for example, you switch only at the end of a length.

    • Both partners run every 1 km together. A partner who runs ahead takes a 1 minute penalty, and more than 3 stay-together penalties means Out of Competition.

      Rulebook: D §7.3 p.25

    • Partners split the work at each station any way they like and switch at a point they choose. Only one partner works at a time.

      Rulebook: D §7.2 p.24 (You Go I Go)

    • Both partners enter each station together, work starts only when both are there, and both leave together.

      Rulebook: D §7.3 Attention 1 p.25

    • The resting partner must stay on their feet in the work zone. Kneeling, sitting, lying down or any other floor contact is not allowed.

      Rulebook: D §7.2.10 p.24

    • Wall balls are 100 reps in every doubles division. The target follows the thrower: 3.00 m for men, 2.70 m for women.

      Rulebook: D §8.8.4 p.36; table p.37

    • The team's finish time is recorded when both partners have crossed the line; the later chip counts.

      Rulebook: D §4.3 p.10

    HYROX Doubles questions

    • Who does what in HYROX Doubles?

Partners split the work at each station any way they like and switch at a point they choose. Only one partner works at a time. The rulebook sets no split ratio, so who does how much of each station is your team's call. Both partners run every 1 km together. A partner who runs ahead takes a 1 minute penalty, and more than 3 stay-together penalties means Out of Competition.

    • Can you switch partners in the middle of a station?

Yes, at every station except one. Partners split the work at each station any way they like and switch at a point they choose. Only one partner works at a time. The exception is the sled pull, where you switch only at the end of a 12.5 m length. Switch once the sled has fully crossed the line. The resting partner never touches the rope. Both partners enter each station together, work starts only when both are there, and both leave together.

    • Do both partners run in HYROX Doubles?

Yes. Both partners run every 1 km together. A partner who runs ahead takes a 1 minute penalty, and more than 3 stay-together penalties means Out of Competition. So the team runs at the pace of the slower runner.

    • What does the resting partner do?

The resting partner must stay on their feet in the work zone. Kneeling, sitting, lying down or any other floor contact is not allowed. The team's finish time is recorded when both partners have crossed the line; the later chip counts.

    • How does the planner decide the split?

It works out your team's race time for the splits the rules allow at each station, using both partners' times, and picks the fastest. The shared runs are set by the slower partner. Each station's call is labelled Strong, Lean or Close call, so you can see how sure it is.

    • Is the HYROX Doubles planner free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account, and nothing you enter is saved. No times yet? The quick estimate uses a 5K time, an age group and 1 to 5 ratings instead, and the plan is labelled as a low-data starting point.
